The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed the issues related to the Constitution of Armenia by Azerbaijan, noting that there are territorial claims to Armenia in the Constitution of Azerbaijan.
“Their constitution refers to the Act of Independence of 1991, which refers to the first republic of Azerbaijan in 1918-1920, and its declaration states that Azerbaijan is founded in the territory of the southern and eastern Transcaucasia. In addition, Azerbaijan in 1919, The Entente states and the League of Nations were officially presented with a map of the country’s territory, which includes the Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions of Armenia as a whole, parts of the Ararat, Tavush, Lori, Shirak regions. This is an obvious territorial claim against Armenia,” he said.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia does not raise its voice; it does not say that Azerbaijan should change the constitution because an article in the agreed-upon part of the peace treaty says that none of the parties can refer to its domestic legislation to fail to fulfill the obligations assumed by this treaty.
