On September 2, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan received the delegation headed by Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament. The delegation arrived in Yerevan to participate in the joint session of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament.
Noting the deepening development of relations between Armenia and Georgia, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia proposed developing new formats for activating parliamentary contacts.
The chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia thanked Alen Simonyan for his warm welcome and welcomed the initiative of the Speaker of the RA NA. Speaking about regional developments, Nikoloz Samkharadze noted that Georgia supports signing the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The parties also discussed various other issues related to the Armenian-Georgian agenda and of regional interest.
