According to the decision of the Council of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, starting from August 15, 2024, the banknotes of the 2024 issue with a nominal value of 5,000 and 10,000 AMD will be circulated. These banknotes are legal tender in the territory of the Republic of Armenia and are subject to unconditional acceptance at their nominal value without time limits.
The changes made to the 5,000 AMD and 10,000 AMD banknotes of the 2024 issue compared to the same denomination banknotes of the 2018 issue are as follows:

• In the upper right corner, the year of issue of banknotes: “2024”
• Signatures of the Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia and the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia
Banknote reverses
• In the lower-left corner, the numerals expressing the nominal value are printed with optically variable ink.
The public relations service of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia informs that banknotes with a nominal value of 5,000 drams issued from 1999 to 2018 and 10,000 drams issued from 2003 to 2018 remain in circulation without restrictions or conditions of circulation.
