Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan hosted Mehdi Sobhani, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia.
The key directions of cooperation in urban development have been clarified, and the memorandum of understanding has been prepared between the RA Urban Development Committee and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of the Republic of Iran.
Referring to the large-scale construction works carried out in Armenia under the RA government’s plan, the parties emphasized the participation of Iranian companies in urban development projects. In that context, the simplified procedure for granting permission to foreign organizations to carry out activities in urban development in Armenia is a great incentive. Yeghiazar Vardanyan reaffirmed the committee’s readiness to support Iranian partners in providing information about RA city planning norms, upcoming tenders, and pilot programs.
Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani emphasized that considering the long-term sector cooperation with Armenia and emphasizing the maintenance of a good reputation, he is ready to guarantee the entry of leading Iranian companies into the Armenian market.
The exchange of information and the involvement of the private sector regarding the field exhibitions organized in Iran and Armenia have been singled out as a direction of cooperation.
The parties agreed to finalize the document shortly and organize the signing of the memorandum.
