The Indian news agency ANI News reported that “Armenia is in an ideal position to offer India an alternative maritime trade route, especially with Europe.” Narek Mkrtchyan, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, announced this within the framework of the international conference in Delhi.
“The Government of Armenia is committed to building partnerships within the framework of major regional and global projects, such as the North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), the Persian Gulf to Black Sea Transit Corridor, and the development of the Chabahar port, which are joint efforts of India and Iran.” said the minister.
Raisina Dialogue is India’s premier geopolitics and geoeconomics conference dedicated to addressing the global community’s most pressing issues.
Then, talking about offering the country an alternative trade route, the Armenian minister said it is “important” when many countries, including India, are looking for alternative sea routes for trade with Europe and the West, given the Red Sea route—a wave of attacks on merchant ships.
