European Union leaders will try to convince Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to join a plan to provide stable financing to Ukraine on Thursday. At the same time, they are also ready to provide cash to Kyiv without Hungarian participation if their arguments fail.
The program plans to help cover Ukraine’s needs from 2024 to 2027 through 33 billion euros ($36 billion) in loans and 17 billion euros in grants. The money should come from the EU budget to provide Kyiv with more predictable funding in the fight against the Russian invasion.
