Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Kamal Kharazi, Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and head of the Strategic Council of Foreign Relations.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Mr. Kharazi’s visit to Armenia and expressed confidence that it will give a new impetus to further developing and strengthening Armenia-Iran relations. Nikol Pashinyan noted that they agreed with the President of the Republic of Iran to take consistent steps toward the continuous increase in trade turnover. At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that he fondly remembers the meeting with the supreme leader of Iran and asked him to convey his warm greetings.
The interlocutors discussed various issues related to the Armenia-Iran cooperation agenda. They are related to political and economic relations, cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and other fields, and implementation of joint projects. Thoughts were exchanged on issues related to security and stability in the South Caucasus. The Prime Minister emphasized the critical approaches of RA on this issue.
In the context of unblocking the infrastructure in the region, the Prime Minister emphasized the favorable position of the Republic of Iran regarding the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the RA government and the fundamental principles underlying it.
