“Different Tigran Mansuryans are imagined in Armenia and outside Armenia.” During the press conference dedicated to the maestro’s 85th birthday, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Sergey Smbatyan, announced.
Smbatyan informed me that the tickets for the concert dedicated to Mansuryan’s jubilee had been sold out for a long time. “The Armenian listener loves his modern composer, and this is the success we wanted to achieve for a long time. You will see and hear much more about the activities of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the maestro,” he said.
Tigran Mansuryan, speaking about cooperation, noted that he wrote film music for 3-4 instruments because that was the requirement of the screen. “There was no need for heavy orchestral sound, but when you create symphonic film music. Reviewing the work and bringing together a thick, strong, big orchestral sound is necessary. This work started with this orchestra,” said the maestro.
