The delegation of Azerbaijan stated at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe that it temporarily suspended its participation in the PACE activities. The justification states that Azerbaijan is against the process of limiting the powers of its delegation and considers it a “serious blow to the authority and impartiality of the Council of Europe.”
According to the Azerbaijani delegation, “in the conditions of the intolerable atmosphere of racism, Azeriphobia, and Islamophobia created in the PACE, the Azerbaijani delegation decides to temporarily stop its cooperation and presence in the PACE until further notice.” After reading the statement, the delegation left the hall.
