“The peace agenda has faced problems both outside Armenia and inside Armenia since the first day.” Artur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the National Assembly “Civil Contract” faction, said today during the parliamentary briefings that the statements coming from Baku are not aimed at deliberately disrupting the peace agenda.
The deputy noted that the government’s agenda is peace, and they will move forward with this agenda. According to Hovhannisyan, they understood from the very beginning and conveyed to the people that it would be challenging. “We are facing obstacles, especially in terms of aggressive rhetoric, and we share the Prime Minister’s approach and hope that this is not an attempt to stall the peace agenda. Even if this is an attempt by Azerbaijan to bring the peace agenda to a dead end, it will not deter us from our policy or agenda.”
According to Hovhannisyan, the alternative to the peace agenda is the war agenda: “Armenia does not have a war agenda; it has a peace agenda, and we are moving along this path.”
