Within the framework of the regional conference on the development of the foster care institute, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan had a meeting with Edward Timpson, a member of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Parliament, and NG Asma AlAzri, Executive Director of the UAE Family Affairs Sector.
During the meetings, the directions for expanding cooperation in protecting children’s rights were discussed; in particular, the importance of joint work to develop foster care institutions and strengthen families was emphasized. The possibility of concluding a sectoral memorandum was also discussed with the partner of the United Arab Emirates.
Minister Mkrtchyan thanked his colleagues for playing an essential role in introducing models and innovations related to foster care. The minister noted that establishing the foster care institute continues to be one of the priorities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and expressed hope that the implemented reforms will improve the lives of children in need of parental care.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint work and invest necessary efforts in the development process of the foster care institute.
