On September 28, the deputy director of “Le Figaro Magazine” Jean-Christophe Buisson, made a publication on his microblog of the X social network, calling on the French authorities to immediately take the following steps in response to the crimes committed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh:
Invite the Azerbaijani ambassador to the French Foreign Ministry.
Confiscate the property in France and belonging to the Aliyevs.
Suspend France-Azerbaijan political, commercial, or cultural friendly groups.
Stop the import of Azerbaijani goods to France.
Astrid Panosyan, deputy of the “Renaissance” faction of the ruling party in the French National Assembly, welcomed Jean-Christophe Buisson’s call and called on parliamentarians who are members of France-Azerbaijan-friendly groups in the French National Assembly and the Senate to leave those groups.
On the same day, the chairman of the “Renaissance” faction, Sylvain Maillard, announced that the coalition’s deputies could not remain silent in the face of the tragedy that befell the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. Members of the France-Azerbaijan friendship group of the National Assembly, the deputies of the “Renaissance” faction, are leaving that group. In the joint statement on leaving the group, the deputies expressed their full support for Armenia and the Armenian people.
This was followed by the statement of the chairman of the France-Azerbaijan friendship group of the French National Assembly, the deputy of the “Republicans” faction, Pierre Vatin, that the France-Azerbaijan friendship group suspends its activities and terminates relations with the Azerbaijan-France friendship group of the Azerbaijani parliament.
According to the information received from the French Senate, a similar process has also started in the Senate.
