RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the Yerevan’s Council of Elders elections, fulfilling his civic duty at polling station 7/46.
He said that he voted for a prosperous and comfortable Yerevan. “I am sure that with the opportunity of these elections we can achieve what we are striving for. Today there is that opportunity to participate and make a free choice. Thank God, there are many candidates.”
He noted that this election differs from the previous ones in its politicization. “It’s not a secret, much more politicized, much more aggravated, taking into account the external environment as well. Perhaps with this, and of course, there is another circumstance that somehow overshadows us, the citizens, by turning our attention to urban problems. I would like us to hold it in a more peaceful and calm environment, and to distinguish the local elections from the national ones.”
