Agreements on exchanging prisoners and unfreezing Iran’s financial assets will be implemented within two months. The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, made such a statement. Within the agreement framework, Iran will have access to $6 billion frozen in South Korean bank accounts due to US sanctions.
Kanani noted that in addition to the frozen assets in Korea, Iran also has financial reserves in neighboring Iraq. “The process of transferring those assets has started, and a part of them has already been taken out of Iraq,” said the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
