Two high-ranking officers of the country’s nuclear forces were unexpectedly replaced in China.
General Li Chao, who commanded China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) missile forces, and his deputy, Liu Guangbin, have been absent for several months.
They were replaced by Wang Hou Bin, who previously held the position of Vice Chief of the Navy, and Xu Xisheng, a member of the Party Central Committee.
It should be noted that at the beginning of the summer, the country’s foreign minister, Qin Gan, disappeared just as inexplicably. A few weeks later, it was announced that his predecessor, Wang Yi, had been appointed in his place.
It is the most significant unplanned reshuffle of China’s military leadership in a decade.
