Hovsep Khurshudyan, head of the “Free Citizen” NGO, is the guest of the “Radar Chat” program at the Radar Armenia booth. He referred to the Pashinyan-Aliev-Michel tripartite meeting held in Brussels on Saturday and its results, spoke about the statements of the foreign ministries of Russia and Azerbaijan, Turkey’s tendency to move towards the West, the differences in the positions of Turkey and Azerbaijan on Artsakh and Armenia, after the end of the deployment of Russian peacekeepers. About the withdrawal from Artsakh and the questions of what the West expects to show more support to Armenia.
According to him, Russia is in a hurry to take the ball back to its court, at the same time noting that Turkey’s interests in regional issues do not entirely coincide with Azerbaijan’s interests, “Turkey does not need a state pushed out of the Armenian part of the region.”
Referring to the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry, which was released during the Brussels negotiations, Khurshudyan raised the question of what is the responsibility of the Russian Federation if both then and now Russia recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. According to him, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is a consequence of the deterioration of Russian-Azerbaijani relations, “We have a problem of gaining time to restore the balance with the help of the West. The international community says that Armenians living in Artsakh should have special rights.”
