Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan today received the delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Mrs. Anne Louyot, Olivier Lefebvre, regional attaché of Internal Security in the South Caucasus, also participated in the meeting.
Ambassador Luyo is finishing his diplomatic mission in Armenia and the latter will replace Olivier Decotin from July 21.
During the meeting, Minister Minasyan highly appreciated the strong relations between Armenia and France and expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Anne Luyot for continuously supporting the extensive agenda of the Ministry of Justice.
Minister Minasyan also noted that it was a great honor to work with Anne Luyo as a high-ranking diplomat and expressed hope that in the future there will be an opportunity to work in other areas of office.
Ambassador Luyo expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized that France is always by Armenia’s side. The ambassador also praised the Ministry’s reforms aimed at strengthening democracy and congratulated him on the significant progress.
The minister presented the large-scale reforms implemented by the Ministry of Justice in the fields of judicial and legal, human rights protection, fight against corruption, probation and penitentiary, in the direction of improving institutional, operational and legislative regulations.
The parties thoroughly discussed the agenda of the Armenian-French legal sphere: issues related to the creation of a new arbitration center, digitalization of the judicial system, legal regulations on money laundering, enforcement of illegal property confiscation regulations and outlined the future scope of cooperation. Access to justice, the criminalization of hate speech, the definition of legal regulations aimed at the exclusion of discrimination, the development of the capacities of sector specialists, the training of judges and prosecutors, etc., were also addressed.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to expand cooperation on Armenian-French multi-sector agenda issues.
