“I must say that in 2018-19 my primary task was to understand the negotiation process in all its details, problems, and opportunities;” Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced at the NA investigative committee session, answering why he did not present all this in detail to the public in time.
“I think the question is legitimate. And why, in 2019, was all this not discussed publicly in this way? Because I spoke publicly. Last time I presented 2019. My speech at the joint session of the Security Councils of NK and RA on March 12, where I published a part of what I said today. But, on the other hand, when a question is asked why it was not fully said in 2019, two questions arise: what would be the consequences and results of that statement? The next question was, what would be the next step in publishing what had to be said? And to what extent was I in harmony with that potential saying and doing? It is one thing to see the reality, another to harmonize, agree with that reality, or adopt it as a policy. These are two different things,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
He says the question is legitimate, and he asks it very often. According to the Prime Minister, his thoughts are between these two extremes, “Would the consequence of saying that be war or peace?” What would you say is to open the ongoing or existing negotiation process publicly? Its domestic, regional, and international consequences.”
The Prime Minister said that even today, he is not in harmony with that reality, but over time he concluded that all this should be discussed with the investigative commission.
