The statement of the RA MFA regarding the installation of an illegal checkpoint by Azerbaijan in the Lachin Corridor.
2023 On April 23, the authorities of Azerbaijan, grossly violating the 2020 point 6 of the tripartite declaration of November 9, have already officially blocked the Lachin corridor, taking steps to install a checkpoint in the hall in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops.
This step carried out by the armed forces of Azerbaijan today cannot be considered another provocation of Azerbaijan. It is a flagrant violation of one of the fundamental provisions of the tripartite declaration of November 9, 2020, aimed at the consistent implementation of its policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh and the complete depopulation of Nagorno-Karabakh. The continuous illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor under fabricated environmental pretexts since December 12 of last year and the installation of a checkpoint under false and groundless pretexts today are the next steps in the consistent implementation of this planned policy.
We call on the Russian Federation to finally fulfill its obligation under point 6 of the tripartite declaration by eliminating the illegal blockade of the corridor and ensuring the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from the entire security zone of the Lachin Corridor and to record to the UN member states with an international security mandate Azerbaijan’s actions undermining regional security. Actions and take practical steps towards the unconditional implementation of the judgment of the highest international court.
