Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the interim government of the Taliban, called on the European Union countries to restore the work of diplomatic missions in Afghanistan.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, wrote about this on his Twitter page, commenting on the results of negotiations with the EU’s special representative for Afghanistan, Thomas Nickerson, in Kandahar city.
Ahmad stated that Mutaki called on EU countries to take necessary steps to improve diplomatic relations with Afghanistan. He also noted the need to restore the work of the diplomatic representations of EU countries in Kabul.
