The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlic Radman, and the delegation led by him, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit.
President Khachaturyan welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia and expressed his belief that it would give a new charge to the Armenian-Croatian friendship, further developing and strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
“I am sure your visit will further strengthen Armenian-Croatian friendship and contribute to developing and strengthening relations between our countries. Such visits are beneficial from the point of view of adjusting, discussing, orienting our future actions, and outlining new horizons. I would also like to thank you for your position on sending EU observers to Armenia. Unfortunately, our neighboring country is still not ready or, at least, proves by its actions that it is not ready to sign a peace agreement. Once again, I welcome your visit and wish you fruitful work,” the president said in his speech.
The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia thanked for the reception and noted. “This is my first visit to Armenia, the first official visit of a Croatian minister to Armenia in the history of Armenian-Croatian relations. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet you and our Armenian colleagues within the framework of this two-day visit. Let’s establish closer cooperation and expand the scope to do much more together,” said Gordan Grlic Radman.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. In this context, holding a joint business conference planned within the framework of the visit of the Croatian minister was considered welcome. Taking steps to realize the unused potential in the economic sphere was emphasized on both sides; it was noted that mutually beneficial projects could be implemented, particularly in information technology, education, science, tourism, and other fields.
A reference has also been made to the crisis caused by the blocking of the Lachin Corridor and the importance of resolving it as soon as possible.
