The concept of the comprehensive health insurance system was approved at the session of the RA Government.
RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, presenting the concept, noted that its implementation would begin this year.
According to her, it will be the preparatory stage, when the package of services, the package prices, and the amount of co-financing from the state will be approved. Avanesyan informed that the groups of beneficiaries of the 2024 state order would be equalized, and the services provided to them would be identical, “In 2024, we will have a group of citizens insured with a comprehensive insurance package, and we will start to include others who want to in voluntary insurance as well.
In 2025, the state will include pensioners as another important protection group, and they will also benefit from all the services of the insurance package. In these years, the inclusion of citizens in voluntary insurance frameworks will continue. By 2027, we will already have mandatory insurance coverage for the entire population.”
Avanesyan noted that the phased investment would be effective because, during this period, healthcare system reforms are also being made, which relate to improving infrastructure.
