Officers from the new Armenian national patrol police began their duties in the Aragatsotn province.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the inauguration of the police force.
In his remarks, the Armenian prime minister highlighted the need to resolve in-depth problems. He said the launch of the new police force is aimed at overcoming the issues.
“…when we were talking about launching the new patrol police force in Armenia, there was a principled important significance that the patrol police must be entirely new, starting from cruisers up to the uniforms, but most importantly with a new mentality,” Pashinyan said.
New mentality must be brought into every newly formed structure, the PM said.
“That’s how we are working in the educational, legal areas, in the military, and this is an extremely important approach. I want us to be guided with this logic in planning and implementing our each next step,” the Prime Minister said.
