A council meeting was held today at the State University of Economics of Armenia, which was attended by the President of the Republic, the chairman of the university council, Vahagn Khachaturyan, members of the board, representatives of the teaching staff, and students.
The session discussed the 2022 annual report of ASTU activities.
Before moving on to the issues on the agenda, Vahagn Khachaturyan noted in his welcoming speech that the problems facing our country should not be an obstacle to recording new successes of the university. Still, we should do everything possible to advance on the typical development path.
“Understanding the difficulties we are facing as a country, I would like each of us to try to be in our place and do our work conscientiously; the students should be in their place, the professors should be in their homes, the university administration should be in their home, and we should all do our jobs. Believe that the power, the government, or other bodies are doing everything to resolve the events and problems that have happened in the last period. It is difficult to find a solution because the neighboring country is simply taking incomprehensible, illogical steps, but be sure that the answers we have to give will be balanced and multi-faceted. All the consequences of any action will be taken into account,” said the president.
According to him, Armenia should use its advantages, which also consist in that “we make independent decisions in our activities in our social, political and everyday life.”
Among the issues on the agenda, the Rector of the State University of Economics of Armenia, Doctor of Economics, Professor Diana Galoyan, made a report, presented the university’s 2022 annual report, the results of the university’s 2022 income and expenditure budget, the 2023 income and expenditure budget, as well as the university’s 2023 The 2027 development strategy.
The council decided to approve the annual activity report and assess the budget implementation results as satisfactory to support the 2023 income and expenditure budget, as well as the 2023-2027 development strategy of the university.
