On January 11, RA Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan welcomed the newly appointed Czech Republic Ambassador to Armenia, Petr Pirunchik, and handed over a copy of his credentials.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated Ambassador Pirunchik on his appointment, wishing him fruitful work in this position. He also expressed his belief that the ambassador will further strengthen and deepen relations between Armenia and the friendly Czech Republic.
Within the framework of the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the agenda of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues, including cooperation within the framework of the European Union. The parties expressed readiness to fully realize the existential of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of mutual visits in deepening relations.
Paruyr Hovhannisyan thoroughly presented the consequences of blocking the free movement of people and goods through the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, stressing that Artsakh is facing the threat of a humanitarian crisis. He also emphasized that the illegal actions, belligerent rhetoric, and over-religious attitude of the leadership of Azerbaijan seriously endanger the possibility of achieving peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
