RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, stated that they do not show any ambition to decide the fate of the Nagorno-Karabakh people during the negotiations. According to him, the Nagorno-Karabakh people should play a decisive role in this matter,”We are also negotiating that there should be an internationally visible conversation between Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians and Azerbaijan, that is, between Baku and Stepanakert, and that is one of the topics of our negotiations.
As for Armenia being the guarantor of the security of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian peacekeeping contingent entered Nagorno-Karabakh with the signature of Armenia and myself.
The Ministers of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation have signed a document on the measures and mandates for security in Nagorno-Karabakh.
This is also how RA fulfills its role as a guarantor of security.”
Pashinyan considers the issue of securing the security and rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh as a priority and emphasizes that the people of Nagorno-Karabakh should be the subject that speaks about all topics. “They have to make their own decisions, and we will support them in every possible way.”
