Performance report 2022 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented to the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to participate in the discussion of the performance report 2022 of the Ministry, was informed from the Offic eof the Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Tigran Khachatryan, Chief of the Prime Minister’s Staff Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan, Head of the State Supervision Service Romanos Petrosyan, officials of the Prime Minister’s Office, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other officials participated in the consultation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan and his deputies presented the works carried out by sectors.

The Prime Minister was informed about the changes taking place in the international security environment, the efforts made by Armenia in the direction of stability and peace in the South Caucasus, the work being done in the direction of humanitarian problems, as well as the strengthening of cooperation with partner states at the bilateral level and the course of works in international organizations.

The steps taken to increase the efficiency of the MFA activities were also discussed. It was noted that reforms were implemented in the field of training/retraining of diplomatic personnel. the legislative framework was improved, certification of diplomats and staffing were carried out with an improved procedure. Capital projects were implemented in the direction of improving the working conditions of the central apparatus of the MFA and the representations of Armenia abroad.

After the presentation of the report, an exchange of ideas took place. The Prime Minister of the country was presented with information on the future steps of the Foreign Ministry in a number of directions.

Nikol Pashinyan noted the importance of diplomatic work in the promotion and protection of national and state interests, in overcoming existing challenges, and attached importance to the continuous improvement of the toolkit. The Prime Minister outlined the priority of further developing cooperation with Armenia’s friendly countries and partner structures.

The Head of the Government referred to the issue of improving the diplomatic service and offered to discuss the details of the introduction of the professional qualification improvement system.

Based on the results of the consultation, Prime Minister Pashinyan gave instructions to those in charge.
