Arman Babajanyan, the chairman of the party for the sake of the republic, wrote on his Facebook page.
“One or two episodes of public meetings in Petersburg make it evident that the situation around Lachin is not only far from a solution but also has a much bigger context than Lachin.
What can Yerevan do if the Russian peacekeepers and Azerbaijan do not do what is written in the November 9 document? Here comes the other question: does Yerevan have a partner or ally to do anything else that can practically support that other option?
Azerbaijan’s action on the Lachin Corridor has at least the tacit support of virtually all power centers. In any case, the calls to open that have been made are practically nothing. If, after a long time, they do not produce any results and the authors of the appeals show no sign of readiness for any other practical step means that they also have their expectations in the created situations and will do anything useful if they get it
Here it is necessary to understand what tools and levers are still in Yerevan’s hands to overcome the situation.
Armenia’s political leadership may hint at the Armenian public with at least as much certainty as to the way out of the situation and the progress of other actors who express a direct mediating interest. If there isn’t some closed-door, mutually agreed-upon process, out loud or implicit, then it’s time to talk about the situation more openly, not just about Russia, but everyone.
This is necessary for the Armenian public to form a more comprehensive assessment of the situation and, accordingly, take a stand on essential decisions because if the condition develops once again in the direction of imposing a status quo on Armenia, even in the form of war, then it will already be an irreversible loss of Armenian statehood.” :
