Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev delivered a televised speech at the European Political Community’s plenary session in Yerevan.
“We have been living in peace for more than 9 months and have learned to live in peace. In August of last year, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration at the White House, which President Trump also signed as a witness,” Aliyev stressed.
He assured that peace is now a reality. “After that fact, Azerbaijan unilaterally lifted transit restrictions, and several thousand tons of cargo reached Armenia through Azerbaijani territory, and we have also started supplying our oil products,” he stressed.
According to him, both Armenia and Azerbaijan are already seeing the practical benefits of peace. “Despite the efforts of all those who are trying to disrupt this process, Azerbaijan is focused on the peace agenda, and the speech of my Armenian colleague emphasized this very clearly,” he said.
At the end of his speech, Aliyev again spoke about peace, noting: “Despite the efforts of all those who are trying to disrupt this process, Azerbaijan is committed to the peace agenda, and my Armenian counterpart’s speech emphasized this very clearly.”
