President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova at the Presidential Palace.
The President of the Republic of North Macedonia is in Armenia on a working visit to participate in the European Political Community Summit.
Welcoming his counterpart, President Vahagn Khachaturyan thanked him for his visit to Armenia and participation in the European Political Community Summit in Yerevan.
“It is a great honor for us to host the participants of the next summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan. I am also glad for the opportunity of our meeting, and I hope that your visit to our country will contribute to the development of friendship and cooperation between Armenia and North Macedonia,” the President noted.
Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova thanked him for the warm welcome and hospitality, noted her impression of Armenia, and emphasized the great potential for cooperation between North Macedonia and Armenia, the full implementation of which will serve as an important platform for expanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail several issues related to the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda. The need to deepen political dialogue and activate mutual visits at various levels was discussed to make cooperation mechanisms more systematic and effective.
The parties attached importance to the possible participation of a high-level delegation from North Macedonia in the COP17 Leaders’ Summit, emphasizing the role of such formats in overcoming global challenges.
The Armenia-European Union partnership was also discussed, emphasizing the ongoing development and institutional deepening of relations with the European Union. In this context, the study of North Macedonia’s experience as an EU candidate country was discussed, which may be useful for Armenia’s European integration processes.
The interlocutors attached importance to promoting direct contact between citizens, considering the possibilities of visa liberalization, which will contribute to the development of mutual recognition, tourism, and business ties.
During the meeting, the need to activate inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized as an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations.
The parties also attached importance to expanding cooperation in the field of information technologies and education, noting that this direction can become a new and promising platform for the development of bilateral partnership.
