Kamal Kharrazi, a foreign policy adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, told CNN that Iran is ready to resume nuclear talks with the United States.
The Iranian side is demanding a return to the pre-June position (when the United States and Israel attacked its facilities).
According to Kharrazi, Iran demands equal rights and will not stop enriching uranium for civilian purposes. Tehran is also not going to put ballistic missile production on the negotiating table.
“The Americans must first show their willingness to negotiate on the terms we have set. These terms must be based on the principles of mutual respect and equality. Before these discussions can begin, a specific agenda must be developed. Unfortunately, President Trump does not believe in diplomatic processes and prefers to use force to achieve his goals,” Khamenei’s adviser said.
He noted that Iran’s conditions for starting negotiations with the United States have not changed, and that Iran will continue to enrich uranium to meet its national needs.
“We will only discuss nuclear issues with the United States,” Kharrazi said, emphasizing that Iran’s ballistic missile program is expanding, and this issue will not be raised on the negotiating table.
