Apple’s website reports that in April, it will update its AirPods Max headphones, which were released in 2020.
The AirPods Max headphones will receive support for lossless audio and a new ultra-low latency audio transmission mode. The company noted that connecting the headphones to a wired sound source will provide this new feature.
The Max is the only Apple headset that supports audio transmission wirelessly and via a cable. The new features will appear in the update to the AirPods Max with USB-C, which is scheduled for release in the fall of 2024.
The Max are the most expensive headphones of the American brand; their cost in the United States is $549.
