Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz reported that Turkey plans to extend an agreement with Iran on oil imports.
According to him, Turkey doesn’t intend to increase oil supplies from Iran until August 2013. Instead, Ankara turned to Libya with a request to increase oil supplies up to 10 million barrels, compared to the current seven million barrels.
Earlier the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK) said that in October 2012 oil imports into Turkey increased by one per cent compared to the previous month, amounting to 1.76 million tons.
Recall that oil imports increased by five per cent in January-October 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, amounting to 16.2 million tons.
