RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the order for the border demarcation to be carried out. The steps will take place in the following order:
– The question of handing over border guarding to the border guard troops will be resolved in the demarcated areas.
– The commissions will reach an agreement on the regulation by July 1.
– The commissions will meet and agree on the order of the demarcation process.
The Prime Minister also noted that on the map, they imagine where the border post is, but there are deviations when we take measurements on the spot using a GPS device that determines the coordinates on the ground.
Pashinyan also noted that the Ministry of Defense will not carry out service in the demarcated areas; the NSS border guard troops will completely carry out border protection.
“In other words, we will not have positions of the Ministry of Defense on the border, and, possibly, a position will leave our sovereign territory,” he noted.
