Azerbaijan and Russia will begin drawing up a bilateral agreement to protect the rights of migrant workers, Russian Deputy Labour and Social Security Minister Tatiana Blinova told journalists in Baku on Wednesday, reports Trend.
“We think that it is quite important to address the issues related to legalizing labor activity not only in Russian territory, but also in the post-Soviet space,” Blinova said. She said Azerbaijan pays great attention to legalization of labor activity, by officially registering labor relationship, payment of taxes and receiving of all the documents that confirm availability of record of work and insurance.
“This cooperation would allow us to address all the problems that are associated with the pension provision, and social security, and with the issues of medical support of those who leave their country of residence in order to work in other countries,” Blinova said. “Undoubtedly these questions worry Azerbaijani and Russian sides. We believe that signing an agreement in this area will help to better resolve these questions,” she said.
