On April 21, in Bangkok, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan met with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Salcia Alishyahbana.
The interlocutors highly appreciated the close cooperation established between Armenia and ESCAP. They exchanged views on further deepening cooperation, including in transport and digital connectivity. In this context, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and knowledge, as well as developing capacities.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia presented to the Executive Secretary of ESCAP Armenia’s priorities for promoting regional connectivity as an important factor in ensuring peace and stability, promoting economic growth, strengthening resilience, and advancing social development. In the context of fully realizing the transit and logistics potential of the South Caucasus, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan emphasized the importance of implementing the “TRIPP” project.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on the prospects for cooperation and joint initiatives between Armenia and ESCAP in the run-up to and within the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
