On Tuesday Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania introduced the new deputy chief of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces.
Colonel Vladimir Chachibaya held this post.
According to Alasania, Chachibaya served in the Georgian army and has an excellent education.
“I am pleased that such experts come back and henceforth, Chachibaya will coordinate and oversee military education sector in Georgian Armed Forces,” he said.
According to the information, Chachibaya graduated from the Military Academy, passed preparation courses in the U.S Officers School, U.S. Army War College and U.S. Command and General Staff School.
He held senior positions in the Georgian peacekeeping contingent in Iraq and the Army Staff. In addition, Chachibaya served as deputy chief of the General Staff.
