According to the Head of EU advisory group Willem van der Geest, the integration of Armenia into the Eurasian Union will affect Armenia-EU relations.
“It is possible that Armenia will join the Eurasian Union, but there are some elements in the Eurasian Union, which contradict the cooperation with the EU. And a moment will come when Armenia will have to define its priorities with whom it wants to cooperate in various sectors. If Armenia decides to join the Eurasian Union- Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan- it will contradict the EU trade agreement. The country can make political decisions, but there will be certain restrictions on economic relations.” said today the Head of EU advisory group.
