Azerbaijani sources, citing the Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Firudin Abbasi, report that all activities of Iran’s Isfahan uranium conversion facility (UCF) are under control of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Abbasi said that the security of facility is fully provided, and so far those who live nearby the facility were not affected.
Earlier the head of Iran’s emergency services Gholamreza Massoumi stated that some of the workers of UCF had health problems at work, but he did not specify what kind of problems. There has also been no announcement made from the Isfahan’s facility itself.
According to Abbasi, any kind of incidents may occur in every plant and such kind of incident has not been taken place in UCF recently. “However it does not mean that such events lead to the spread of radioactive substances,” Abbasi said.
