Iran imposes a ban on the import of foreign products

Iran imposes a ban on the import of a wide range of foreign products. As the local media reported today, the government refuses, particularly on imported cars, computers and other goods.

The authorities have banned the purchase of 75 types of products from abroad, including watches and cell phones.
Decrease in imports was another measure taken by the leadership of the Islamic Republic against Western sanctions.

On Wednesday, the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) prepared a draft law on the reduction of oil exports for one third compared to last year.

The economic crisis in the Islamic Republic is getting worse day by day. Thus, the country’s central bank announced that the inflation rate in the country increased to 24.9 percent in October. Since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took office seven years ago, it is the highest level.

Last Sunday, the parliament has invited Ahmadinejad to give explanations to the sharp fall in the value of the local currency. Last week, the dollar stood at 31 thousand riyals, while in the middle of last year it was about 11 thousand.
