Azerbaijani media reports that Vice President of Google, Vinton G. Cerf, at the press conference in Baku announced that the International Internet Governance Forum (IGF), which is taking place in Baku, is very important because it is multistate holder perspective.
“I want the world to understand that the Internet is not confined to what we typically called developed world. It is rapidly growing in other places, even here,” he said, adding “Internet is the opportunity for anyone in the world to contribute applications and content, and it is the sharing of the world’s knowledge which is powerful”.
Note, IGF is being held in Baku within the International Telecommunications Exhibition BakuTel-2012 on November 6-9.
The forum is attended by around a thousand delegates from over a hundred countries, including representatives of government agencies, private sector, civil society and the Internet community, international organizations and others
