Azerbaijani media reports that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is still considered as the main contender for purchasing the Greek gas corporation DEPA.
As reported, ENI, Edison, Gas Natural and Enagas have refused to purchase the Greek company, but there are 3 companies who are still interested in the Greek company: Russia’s Gazprom, Sintez and SOCAR.
Note, 65% of DEPA shares are owned by the Greek government and 35% belong to company Hellenic Petroleum, but both shareholders will sell all these shares.
