The European Parliament today held a debate about Georgia. During the debate a special resolution was adopted.
Should be noted that this is the first resolution adopted by the European Parliament after the parliamentary elections on October 1.
Georgian media reports that MPs congratulate Georgian people with a major step towards the consolidation of democracy, welcome elections, which by opinion of OSCE monitors were conducted according to international standards and note that these elections were crucial for the democratic development of Georgia, for the political future of the country, is said in the resolution.
MPs also welcome the statement of the President of Georgia, whose conceded defeat of his party very soon after the election.
