Georgian MP from minorities, ex-Minister of Natural Resources Goga Khachidze on Thursday, October 25, arrived at the legislature building in Kutaisi (Imereti, western Georgia) on a bicycle.
“Kutaisi gives a chance to ride by a bicycle, and I never refuse to use it,” said Khachidze to the journalists.
According to the MP, today he wants to set his personal example to others.
“Today, the government will be adopted, and that I want to somehow make it clear to everyone that you can ride on a bicycle,” – said Khachidze.
He expressed the belief that in a while there will be other bikes of deputies in front of the parliament building in Kutaisi.
However, the MP denied the information voiced by the candidate for prime minister, the leader of the coalition “Georgian Dream” Bidzina Ivanishvili that Khachidze, when he was the Minister of Natural Resources, “rode on a bike in the corridors of the Ministry.”
Recall that in the summer of 2011 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has opened in Kutaisi six-kilometer section of the cycle path.
