Member of the newly-established union’s Coordination Council, President of “Azerros”, National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis in Russia, Soyun Sadikhov told Azerbaijani media that the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia has suspended its activity.
He said the new organization has suspended its activity due to the groundless reports about it in the Azerbaijani media.
“As founders of the union we have decided to suspend the activity of the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia until the meeting of Abbas Abbasov with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev. The Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia will continue functioning after the meeting”, he said adding “The reports that the union has been established under the instructions of the Kremlin and other reports are false. The organization founded by influential Azerbaijani businessmen in Russia is not against the Azerbaijani state or government. Our aim is to establish relations between the Azerbaijani organizations in Russia. Members of the Coordination Council of the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia are concerned over the condition of Azerbaijanis in Russia. We all support the Azerbaijani state and government”.
