“Azerbaijan appreciates Germany’s support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and its position over the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov at a reception organized by the German-Azerbaijani Forum during his official visit to Germany.
The ministry’s official Twitter page reports that Mammadyarov highlighted the successful cooperation between the two countries, both in bilateral format and within international organizations.
Mammadyarov also noted that Azerbaijan is interested in the development of cooperation with Germany in the humanitarian sphere.
During the visit, Mammadyarov had a meeting with his counterpart, Guido Westerwelle and discussed prospects of cooperation and Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring energy security.
Mammadyarov left for Germany for an official visit on Thursday.
