Negotiations between the EU and Georgia on a free and comprehensive trade continue in accordance with the political calendar, said European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Füle in Tbilisi at a press conference at the hotel “Radisson”.
According to him, tomorrow a meeting of the Committee on this issue will be held in Brussels with the participation of Georgia.
“We emphasize the need for continuous process of preparing the documents for signing. There is no reason to delay the negotiations, as the new government of Georgia is clearly defined in relation to the integration into the EU, “said Füle.
He noted that Georgia’s intention to hold talks with Russia on the restoration of trade relations only contributes to the settlement and stabilization of Georgian-Russian relations. “This is a positive step and it does not contradict the Georgia-EU negotiations.”
