Iranian Press TV reported that Islamic Republic Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast at a press conference in Tehran said that president Ahmadinejad’s visit to Azerbaijan for participation in ECO forum to pave way for greater cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan.
Should be reminded that Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Azerbaijan yesterday for participation in the Economic Cooperation Organization’s (ECO) summit in Baku. On the eve of the summit, Baku hosted a meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers, which discussed a meeting agenda of heads of states.
Foreign ministers of the ECO member states also worked on the draft Baku Declaration, to be adopted following the summit.
Ramin Mehmanparast said that this kind of summit is important for all the regional countries, as it have enough capacity for cooperation between the nations.
