Azerbaijani mass media reports that Mr Taner Yildiz, energy and natural resources minister of Turkey, said that Azerbaijani gas supply to Turkey was suspended because of an explosion on the South Caucasus gas pipeline.
An explosion took place on the section of the Baku Tbilisi Erzurum gas pipeline in the Sarikamis district, situated in the Turkish province of Kars on October 3sr 2012. Last time the explosion hit this pipeline was on May 29th 2012.
Turkey has a contract for the supply of 6.6 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas annually from the Shah Deniz field via the South Caucasus pipeline. The explosion on the gas pipeline did not affect gas production in Azerbaijan.
