“France is with Armenia on Karabakh conflict “, said President of Co-ordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) Mourad Papazian, speaking about an official visit of RA President Serzh Sargsyan to France.
M. Papazian said that if there is to be a meeting between the presidents of France and Armenia then French President Francois Oland has something to say on the Karabakh issue.
“He wants to play a positive role in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. It was also the reason that he did not want to delay the meeting with Aliyev. Although not to boycott relations with Azerbaijan is not in the interests of France, but Oland will definitely play positive role in the Karabakh issue, “commented Papazian.
Referring to the position of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the extradition of Azerbaijani murderer Ramil Safarov, Papazian said that the Foreign Ministry denounced in the diplomatic language “Safarov’s transaction.”
According to him, we would be glad if France recognized Karabakh’s independence, and clearly condemn “Safarov’s transaction”. But Co-ordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) did not rule out that if France was not the country of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, maybe it would have more freedom. Therefore, according to Papazian, France should try to maintain a balance.
